A wild horse mare grazes on grass atop a sand dune along the North Carolina coast. The pastel colors in this photograph helps to lend a calm, serene feeling to the image. Wild horses have lived along the coast since Europeans first started exploring the North American continent. Their strength and beauty have made them a favorite subject of mine.
