The Cedar Point Recreation area is located near the towns of Cape Carteret and Swansoboro North Carolina. This portion of the national forest borders the White Oak River and includes a salt marsh wetlands area. The Tideland Trail wanders through the marsh, crossing wet areas with boardwalks and bridges. It is a popular location for photographers, bird watchers and nature lovers.
