Description
A wild horse is framed by foliage along Taylor's Creek across from Beaufort, North Carolina. The Rachecl Carson Estuarine Reserve is home to a herd of wild ponies. This image, taken on Carrot Island, show one of these magestic animals in the marsh grass. Wild horses have, predominately Spanish Mustangs, have lived along the US coast since Europeans first began exploring it's shores. Toady, only a few herds remain.
