Description
I made this macro photograph of a lovely Purple Anemone flower in the gardens of Tryon Palace in New Bern, North Carolina. These lovely flowers are symbolic of love, respect, excitement and anticipation. Based on Victorian standards this might be an appropriate gift to give someone you've been dying to see or, perhaps, a forsaken love.
Also known as the windflower or poppy windflower. The blooms close at night, reopening in the morning. There are over 120 varieties of these this flower and they come in many different colors. They are frequently among the first flowers to bloom in the Spring and are often seen as a sign of the beginning of the new season.
