Description
The stern of the replica Spanish galleon, "El Galeon." This beautiful ship visted Willminton NC. These great wooden ships were used transport gold and other treasure from the New World to Spain during the early exploration of the Americas. While fiction would lead us to believe these tall ships were frequent targets for pirates, the fact is they were much too large and well armed to have been a common target.
