Description
A cluster of Bald Cypress trees rise up from the tannin waters of an east North Carolina mill pond. An evening fog veils the forest on the other side of the small lake. The distinct base of the trees are reflected on the water's surface.
Cypress is an iconic Southern US tree. Often associated with swamps, thecy can also be found along creeks, rivers and ponds. Lumber from this species is highly weather and moisture resistent. It has been used for outdoor structures and boat building thorughout the years.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
