Description

I headed out to photograph birds this morning but they weren't cooperating. I switched of to macro and came upon this shy Blackeyed Susan in the Croatan forest. Despite her reservations about being photographed, I think her portrait turned out quite nice. The Croatan National Forest is located on North Carolina's Crystal Coast near the communities of Newport and Harkers Island. The bright yellow petal folded across it's bronw center give the impresson of shyness or insecurity.
