Our spiral notebooks are 6" x 8" in size and include 120 pages which are lined on both sides. The artwork is printed on the front cover which is made of thick paper stock, and the back cover is medium gray in color. The inside of the back cover includes a pocket for storing extra paper and pens.

The sun begins to set over Core Sound as seen from Shell Point on Harkers Island, North Carolina. Named for a thirty foot mound of shells, bones and stone tools left behind by Native Americans, it is located at the eastern end of the island. The Cape Lookout National Seashore Visitor Center is located on the north side of the road. This end of this Downeast community is also the location of the Core Sound Waterfowl Musem.
Native islanders have a distinct brogue that is reminiscent of the way colonial settlers spoke. Residents were isolated from the mainland until a bridge was built connecting the island. Part of the Crystal Coast, this and other "Downeast" Carteret County communities have a long tradition of fishing and waterfowling.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
