A tunnel is formed by shaping young saplings to a wooden framework at the Tryon Palace in New Bern, North Carolina. This colonial structure served as the Governor's home in colonial times. The gardens are a popular destination for visitors.
Also known as the Governor's Palace, this brick structure served as the residence for British governors from 1770 to 1775. The residence was seized by rebel forces in 1775 and eventually burnt to the ground. The current structure is a recreation of the building based on period architectural plans.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
