Description
A view of Dry Falls from the hiking trail. This waterfall is located outside of HIghlands, North Carolina. The Cullasaja River drops 75 feet from a cliff that overhangs the trail giving visitors the rare opportunity ot safely pass behind the falling water. Except during high flow periods visitors are able to hike behind the falls without getting wet. Hence the name, "Dry Falls." There is a wheelchair accessable viewing area located next to the parking lot. A set of stairs leads down to the falls. There is a $3.00 user fee to park and vsit the falls. This beautiful waterfall is located in the Nantahala National Forest along US Highway 64 in western North Carolina.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
