Description
In this color photograph a splash of autumn color is found in the predominately pine landscape of the Croatan National Forest. The image features and open grass lane lined by tall, mature pine trees. A small deciduous tree in lovely autumn foliage leans out from the pines and into the grassy path.
Living along the NC Crystal Coast the woodlands are dominated by evergreen trees. As such it is a challenge and treat to find displays of fall foliage. This open area roughly parallels the Neusiok hiking trail near the Pine Cliffs recreation area.
