Artist's Description
A view found along the Tideland Trail at Cedar Point, North Carolina. A dead tree standing amongst the marsh grass provides a focal point. In the distance a boardwalk extends over the wetlands. This day trail is found in the Croatan National Forest. Popular with trail cyclists, dog walkers, joggers and nature lovers, the paths feature a fine, gravel surface with wooden walk-ways and bridges crossing wetlands areas. Part of the White Oak River ecosystem this hike provides a look into an important natural resource.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
