Artist's Description
A short, sandy path leads from the steps of a private home to the beach at Emerald Isle North Carolina. Wooden sand fence lines each side of the walkway keeping the dunes from encroaching on the short trail. Rain Clouds are forming overhead. A gentle surf rolls onto the sea shore.
Emerald Isle is one of several beach towns found on the barrier island named Bogue Banks. Other commuities on the island include Salter Path, Pine Knoll Shores and Atlantic Beach. This central portion of the NC coast is known as the Crystal Coast and is also often referred to as the Southern Outer Banks.
