Artist's Description
This panoramic photograph looks at Core Creek at sunset on and early December evening. Boat docks and a boathouse can be seen in this color image. Golden marsh grass provides the foreground with colorful clouds providing the background.
Core creek is part of the Intracoastal waterway. The ICW provides safe passage to boats travel up and down the US East Coast. In the fall one can observe many boaters traveling south for the winter. Their return can be seen in the Spring. This aquatic highway is also used by barges and tugs transporting their cargoes to various ports.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
