This long dock in the Cottages at Bay Ridge development on Atlantic Beach stretches 2000 feet eventually reaching a private island in the sound. The boardwalk makes two or three turns as it juts out into the wetlands and sound. This image captures a look at the longest straight section of the picturesque wooden walkway. This upscale housing development is full of love beach homes, many available as vacation rentals.

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river.
