This old red barn is locagted in rural Randolph county between the communities of Winchester and Farmland, Indiana. These traditional woodlen structures are quickly disappering from the countryside, being replaced by modern stell buildings. The golden brown field in the foreground, combined with the colorful fall foliage in the rear helps to accent this lovely old barn.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
