Artist's Description
The Mimosa tree is loved by some and despised by others. Brought to the Carolinas in 1785, this Asian tree has taken quite a hold in the Southeastern United States. They adapt well to the South's climate, populate easily and compete with local flora for space. One saving grace is their fluffy pink flowers that bloom in June.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
