A mighty oak tree stand in the corner of an agricultural field at the intersection of two country roads. Located in rural Pamlico county North Carolina, the two roads meet to form a t-shaped junction. The old oak dominates this color photograph. Behind it a woodlands can be seen. The sky is a lovely Carolina Blue with a nice helping of fluffy, white clouds.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
