Artist's Description
An intimate view of two trees rising up from the duck weed covered waters of a swampy area in the Emerald Isle Woods Park. Located along Coast Guard Road in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, this park features several nice trails wandering through the maritime forest. There is also a Frisbee golf course which presents an additional set of trails that somewhat parallel the hiking paths. An excellent place for birdwatching, visitors may also encouter squirrels, rabbits and Whitetail Deer. A mnor amout of bushwaching was necessary to capture this view.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
