Eastern Wild Turkey in NC T-Shirt

A wild turkey feeds in a field along an eastern North Carolina country road. Located a few miles outside of Neport, NC, wild turkeys are frequently seen in the agricultural fields along this back road. The reintroduction of these large birds has been quite successful in coastal Carolina and it is not unusual to spot flocks of 20 or more birds in the area. In this color photograph the Tom looks towards the camera. A wooded area can be seen in the background. Primary colors in this image are various shades of brown with a bit of green and gray.

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
