Artist's Description
An old dock sets in shambles, reaching out into the Neuse River near Oriental, North Carolina. Likely the victim of a coastal storm, the wood looks relatively new though the damage gives the impression of an older structure. While I have no idea if the location has an actual name, I refer to it as "Finn's Beach" for a friend's dog that she brings there to play and swim.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
