Buit in the 1040s the "Fish House" is a popular local landmark along the Beaufort North Carolina waterfront. With an eclectic collection of decorations in the yard and on the porch it harkens times past. The home of Capt. and Mrs. Louis Styron, their daughter Cecila was born there. The family then moved across the street and the little cottage was used to repair fishing gear, rebuild boat motors, clean fish and for all the task a commercial fisherman might need to do when ashore.
Known as Beaufort by the Sea, this Crystal Coast commuity is one of the oldest in the state of NC. Once a flourishing fishing and whaling community, today the little village is a popular destination for family vaccations and reitrees.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
