Artist's Description

I've noticed this location many times when driving past on an adjacent highway. I finally decided to take a deotur to see if I could find may way to the scene. There was a steel bar gate across the drive into the property, but no signs. As such I decided to take a chance and walk in to grab a few photos. Judging from the old, rusted equipment sitting around the property, I suspect it was an abandoned marina or possibly harbor.

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
