A fast moving mountain stream is pictured in this color photograph. Boulders provide the foreground with a hint of a waterfall seen in the back. Trees in their fall foliage provides an Autumn timestamp to the scene.
This photo was made in late October in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The location is near Bryson City, North Carolina and the Deep Creek recreation area.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
