The special location, affectionately known to me as Finn's Beach, has an old, storm damaged dock. I had never visited the spot at sunset and decided it was high time I did. Located just outside of Oreintal, North Carolina, this is a section of shoreline along the Neuse River in Pamlico County.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...

There are a few similar around. I cannot devulge the exact location because my girlfriend would kill me. She litkes it not "peoplely." I call it Finn's Beach" for her dog, Finn, that loves to swm there. ;)
