Artist's Description
Located along Front Street on the Beaufort, NC waterfront, this is the town clock. One of the oldest communities in North Carolina, Beaufor by the Sea was established in 1709. As a colonial seaport, the village was involved with shipping and receiving goods. It also had an active commercial fishing industry, including whaling.The town played host to several scoundrels including the infamous pirate, Black Beard.
About Bob Decker

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
