Description
Live Oak trees, with their curving and twisted limbs are somewhat symbolic of the Deep South in the United States. Inside the boundaries of Hammocks Beach State Park there is a lovely clearing that is home to a grove of these picturesque old oaks. In this black and white image the viewer looks across the clearing, beneath a large overhanging limb, to view some of the trees on the other side of the grove.. In this black and white image the viewer looks across the clearing, beneath a large overhanging limb, to view some of the trees on the other side of the grove. This monochromatic image was made during an early October afternoon. In other locations ancient trees like these have been given romantic names such as "the Angel Tree" and "The Tree of Life." As far as I know none of these trees have been so named.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
