Artist's Description
The Beaufort Historic Society dates this historic home to 1765, though the oldest portions may be as much as 30 years older. Ballast stones used in its foundation came across from England in the bilge of wood sailing vessels. Today this old home is a bed and breakfast offering a unique lodging experience to visitors. There are five lodging rooms available.
About Bob Decker

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
