A four panel collage of scenes from around the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. From the uppler left and clockwise: Live Oak tree at Hoop Hole Creek, Atlantic Beach NC. Surf fisherman and Bogue Banks Pier at sunset, Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Inside the historic structure at Fort Macon State Park, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. A Great Egret perched in a dead tree along the Tideland Trail, Cedar Point, North Carolina.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
