Artist's Description
The sand dunes at the Point in Emerald Isle North Carolina are a big part of this pristine beach area. During the Spring and early Summer shore birds nest and forage amoungst these hills of sand. I seleted a black and white presentation to highlight the textures and bring out the drama of the sky.
Emerald Isle North Carolina is one of several beach towns located along the barrier island of Bogue Banks and is part of the Crystal Coast. This area is also sometimes refered to as the Southern Outer Banks and is renowned for sport fishing, shelling, bird watching and wreck diving.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
