While exploring the backroads of Pamlico County North Carolina I came upon this rustic old home. Mother Nature is slowly reclaiming this property.. While not an architectural expert, from the design of the home I suspect it may date back to the 1800s, perhaps even the Civil War era. I do wish it could speak. I'm sure it would share some wonderous stories.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
