Artist's Description
An old barn is seen sitting in rural North Carolina Jones county. Obviously abandoned and forgotten this ancient agricultural building shows signs of decay. It's metal roof is rusted brown, boards are missing from its side and a door stands open. Overhead the Carolina blue sky is filled with fluffy white clouds. This structure might have served as a tobacco drying building in its past.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
