At one time this Federal style house was visually stunning. Likely it was once the center of a busy farm, perhaps even the manor house of a large plantation, Today it sits in shambles, a pale reminder of what it once was. Even so its character still shines through. Maybe someone else will recognize its beauty and undertake its restoration.
I came upon this classic old structure while driing through Duplin county, North Carolina on Highway 41. As I passed it I immediately started looking for a safe spot to turn around. I could simply not pass by without documenting this once beautiful home.
