Artist's Description
An old dock sits at the end of a canal leading to the sound near a Down East Carolina community. In this black and white photo the dock juts out into a tree lined waterway. Reeds grow up along the shore and the end of the dock. Sunlight shines on the end of the dock like a spot light emphasizing its end. This monochrome image has a feel of yesteryear.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
