Artist's Description
The Oceanana Fishing Pier is shown after dark in this moody color photography. The pier enters the frame from the left hand edge and appears to stretch to the horizon of the Atlantic ocean. Pole light along the wooden structure are reflected on the salt water below. Overhead dark, billowing coulds threaten rain. This image was made on an early November evening at Atlantic Beach, NC.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
