Description

An angry sea and moody skies compliment this look beneath the Oceanana Fishing Pier at Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. One of only two commercial fishing piers operating along the Crystal Coast. The value of beach front property has made it more profitable to sell off old pier properties when damaaged by hurricanes than to rebuild and reopne them. As with so many coastal traditions the fishing piers are slowly disappearing from the seascape.
