Description
The skeleton of a tree has washed up in the salt marsh along the Tideland Trail. Located at the Cedar Point Recreation Area of the Croatan National Forest, this is a popular hike for locals and tourists alike. The surface of the well maintained paths vary from gravel to hard packed earth to wooden foot bridges crossing wet areas. The entrance to the park is found along VFW Road about a mile off of Highway 58 near Cape Carteret, North Carolina.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
