Artist's Description
A skiff sits at anchor in shallow water along the edge of the North River in Doweast Carteret County North Carolina. The setting sun lights the sky with beautiful warm colors above. The sky colors are reflected on the water. Local fishermen anchor their small boats in this shallow water. When it's time to tend their nets or crab traps they wade out to their nimble little boats. This is a tradition that's went on for decades, if not hundreds of years.
About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
