Artist's Description
A colorful park bench sits along the Tideland Trail near Cedar Point North Carolina. Part of the Croatan National Forest, this recreation area offers hiking, camping, a boat ramp and a kayak and canoe trail through the salt marsh and onto the White Oak river. The hiking paths feature wooden bridges and boardwalks to cross the tidal creeks and wetlands, well maintained dirt and gravel trails through the maritime forest areas. Egrets, herons, Osprey and even Bald Eagles are frequently viewed here.

About Bob Decker
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
