Artist's Description
I had planned on it all day. I'd drive down to Emerald Isle to make some sunset photos near the Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier. As I crossed the high-rise bridge from the mainland to the island I could see a faint hint of fog. Upon reaching the beach it became clear that he sky was going to be totally obscured by cloud cover and the fog building over the Atlantic ocean. None the less I went about the business of creating some images. I stacked a four stop and eight stop neutral density filter in front of my lens to slow my shutter speed and smooth the rough water and shot a few frames. This is one of the resulting fine-art images. The Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier is located along the beach in Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The town is located on the western end of the barrier island named Bogue Banks. The general area is known as the Crystal Coast and the Southern Outer Banks. The region is blessed with mild winters and a cooling sea-breeze in the summer.
About Bob Decker

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
