Description
I visited an area along a foret access road that I knew was a hot spot for these pretty, bright yellow wild flowers. I'd spent my morning doing yard work and household chores and this was my first opotunity to make some photos. With the sky threatening rain, I decided to do some roadside work, allowing me access to quick cover should the rain fall.
Black-eyed Susans, Rudbeckia hirta, are fairly common along the North Carolina coastal plain in late Spring and on into Autumn. In this location the flower are frequently growing among deep green ferns. The combination makes for some wonderful close-up photography.
