Description

Wild Banker Horses feed on a tidal flats area along North Carolina's Outer Banks. This color photograph was taken within the boundaries of the Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve across Taylor's Creek from Beuafort, NC. Colonial Spanish Mustangs have made a living on the barrier islands of this state for nearly five hundred years. Today the herds are limited to only a few locations.
