Balck Eyed Susan Pair - Croatan National Forest Toddler T-Shirt

The two Black Eyed Susan wildflowers, Rudbeckia hirta, are growing along a fire access road in the Croatan National Forest in eastern North Carooinal These lovely cone flowers are native to NC and begin blooming in early summer. Look for them along roadsides and banks.

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river.
