An old farm house sits in rough condition along an Onslow County, North Carolina backroad. Once a happy home, today it presents a rustic reminder of a simipler time long gone. If one listens closely they can almost hear the voices of a hard working, close-nit framily that worked the line to make a life for themselves. Perhaps they moved on to a better life, or maybe the family lines died out after generations of working this land. Either way this old structure still stands as a memorial of the life they led.
I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
