Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

Fire access roads provide access deep into the pine forests of eastern North Carolina. Miles of these roads can take one deep inside thie long leaf pine woodlands, where the narrow dirt and gravel paths are the only hint of civilization. Much of the southern portions of the Unitied States looked like this with European Explorers first smashed onto the shores of North America. Native Amrecians had long lived in harmony with the wilderness. The pine savannas and barrens teamed with wildlife such as Whitetail Deer and Black Bear. Primal and wild there was a beauty that has disappeared from much of the nation.

Thie black and white photograph was create while exploring NC Gamelans in Craven county. While only a short drive from the city of New Bern, it has the feel of being deep inside a wilderness, far from the stress and clutter of modern life. It is places like this to which I like to escape and attempt to capture the essence of these environments with my camera. While possibly an...

I've always been a bit of an adventurer as well as being fascinated by the art and craft of photography. As a boy my folk hero was Daniel Boone. When on family camping trips I'd often go hiking where I'd allow my young imagination to run crazy with images of being an early colonial explorer blazing the way into the unknown wilderness. As an adult my activities have included hiking, kayaking, spelunking, wreck and cave diving and other adventurous outdoor experiences. I always feel drawn to see what lies down that old dirt road, hides behind the next hill, or awaits further down the river. It's been said I suffer severely from the Star Trek syndrome: "To boldly go..." My photography is simply an extension of my thirst for knowledge, desire...
