Description
I love Live Oak trees. Their twisting, curving, long readhing limbs I've hiked past this tree on many occasions and always pause to enjoy its natural beauty. Naturally I've also take many photos of this lovely Oak tree. While most of my visits and photos were made in the morning hours, on this day I visted in the evening as the sun was setting in the western sky.. This provided a softer light, coming in from the side. This resulted in an image with less contrast and without the dappled light normally captured in the earlier versions.
This tree is located along the Elliot Couse Nature Trail in Fort Macon State Park, Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. The 3.5 mile trail passes through maritime forest, next to wetland areas and through the sand dunes with lovely beach views. Located on the barrier island called Bogue Banks, the park is one of the jewls of the Crystal Coast.
